Bexar County Public Lawyer Referral Services
The State Bar of Texas Lawyer Referral Service is the only public referral service in Bexar County. Like many lawyer referral services, Bexar uses a "next-on-list" structure to provide referrals. "Next-on-list" referral services ask for a client's location and desired legal area; those are the only criteria used to selecting an attorney. The computer will generate a list of names for the client and a representative will provide the caller with the next name available on that list. The service requires that the attorneys are certified by the bar but the service makes no representation of competence and no investigation into suitability. The client must pay for the referral and may be required to pay for the initial consultation.
