Lawyer Referral Services in Essex County, NJ
The Essex County Bar Association is the only public lawyer referral service to serve the residents of Essex County and its biggest city, Newark. The Essex County Bar Association does charge a $25 fee for a 30 minute consultation with an attorney you are put in touch with. The referral itself is free from the bar association but you are only referred to one attorney at a time. When you are put in touch with an attorney you are only given their name and phone number and absolutely no information on the lawyers cost or background. The Essex County Bar Association does state that every attorney has to be certified in order to be a part of the referral list they have but the bar does not offer any guarantees.
