The Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California State Bar both offer lawyer referral services at no cost to the clients. Within a week they can have you paired up with one of their many registered attorneys. The Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California State Bar claim to have attorneys in almost every field.
Both the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California State Bar will provide you with some information about the referring attorneys, such as their certifications, pending investigations into ethical violations and prior offenses (if any). However, neither organization offers any guarantees about the lawyers they refer.
